I'm Jared Blashill

I'm a Product Designer based in Texas. I began my UX education on the Silicon Slopes of Utah. Surrounded by tech giants, it was the perfect incubator for me. As I completed my 4-year degree in Interaction Design, I gained invaluable experience working for organizations large and small.

From my experience, I have learned that I can solve any problem by asking the right people the right questions. I currently work in higher ed, designing systems and products that help students be successful.

More About Me

More About Me

I am obsessed with growing as a designer. In 2023, I volunteered at the Front Product Design Conference in Salt Lake City, UT.
I enjoy watching just about any sports, but I am a lifelong Boston Celtics fan. I really love learning about the processes that make winning teams!
My wife, Aubrie, and I love to travel. In 2024, we watched my father-in-law win a Bronze Medal at the Paralympics in Paris, France!
I love music! I play four instruments and especially enjoy attending concerts! Seeing Thundercat in 2021 was probably my favorite!

Guiding Principles

Guiding Principles

Consistency

In design, consistency helps people learn to use products easier. It creates trust between user and product. As a designer, I believe being a consistent teammate helps build trust within the team and facilitate greater output.

Simplicity

I believe that complex problems can't be solved until they're understood. I believe that breaking down issues into simple parts is the first step to solving them. Simplifying complex things leads to solving them simply.

People Before Pixels

People come first. Whether I am managing a team or contributing to one as a designer, the people around me and the people using my product are the priority.

Feedback or Death

Without feedback, Product Design can be like throwing darts in the dark. Teams that give and receive feedback effectively are much more likely to solve problems faster.
